3. Sleeping Bag Type

What shape?

If you want maximum comfort and you do not plan on carrying the sleeping bag in a backpack, then you can get a blanket type sleeping bag which offers the highest comfort. If you need to save space and weight, then it is good to choose from mummy shaped bags. Third option is oval shape, which is a compromise between blanket type and the “mummy”.

What length?

Length - CM

The length plays a role as well. The sleeping bag should be around 20 – 30 cm longer that the user's height. Overly large sleeping bag will not provide sufficient warmth. On the other hand, if you choose a bag too small, you might not be able to sleep comfortably, the insulating layer will get compressed and won't warm you up properly.
