1. Comfortable Temperature

During what period will you be sleeping?

It is important to think in what conditions you will be sleeping. This will simplify your sleeping bag selection by one basic parameter, which is thermal comfort. And while we are discussing this, did you know, that even during summer the temperature can drop to zero if you camp by the water?

2. Gender

Who are you choosing for?

Women’s sleeping bags can differ in design and in some cases are equipped with an extra thermal layer in the leg area. Of course even ladies can choose from men’s or unisex models. You can learn more about how to choose a sleeping bag in our How To Choose section.

3. Sleeping Bag Type

What shape?

If you want maximum comfort and you do not plan on carrying the sleeping bag in a backpack, then you can get a blanket type sleeping bag which offers the highest comfort. If you need to save space and weight, then it is good to choose from mummy shaped bags. Third option is oval shape, which is a compromise between blanket type and the “mummy”.
