Snowboards

Snowboards are made from several layers of materials: the top layer is usually made of ABS foil, laminate, or aluminum sheet. The core of the snowboard consists of various materials, bordered by the base and steel edges. The quality of a snowboard is most influenced by its core. Snowboards are divided into three categories: freestyle snowboards, slalom snowboards, and the most popular all-mountain snowboards. All snowboards (22 types) are in stock on our online store or at the shop.

How to choose a snowboard?

Are you deciding mainly based on design and not paying attention to other aspects? When it comes to snowboards, this is definitely not a wise strategy. The board you choose could be designed for different conditions or for a different type of rider. What should you keep in mind when choosing a snowboard?

Purpose – Men's snowboards are larger, wider, and stiffer. Women's models tend to have a narrower and softer construction. Due to the different center of gravity in women, their snowboards often have the bindings slightly shifted. Kids' snowboards consider the physical build and design preferences of young riders.

Type – All-mountain snowboards are a universal choice for beginners and riders who mainly stay on the slopes. If you're heading into the backcountry, freeride or powder versions are better. For practicing tricks in the snowpark, freestyle snowboards are ideal. A less common type is carving snowboards, which are designed for fast carving turns.

Length – The snowboard should come up to about your chin or between your chin and nose. Beginners, lighter riders, and freestyle riders will prefer a shorter board. On the other hand, experienced snowboarders, heavier riders, or freeriders will opt for longer boards.

Width – The width of the snowboard should correspond to your boot size. Otherwise, you risk dragging the toes or heels of your boots on the snow. For boot sizes up to EUR 44, a standard width snowboard is sufficient. For larger boots, look for boards in the wide or mid-wide category.

Stiffness – Softer snowboards are easier to control, turn, and forgive mistakes in technique. They are ideal for beginners, lighter riders, and freestyle riders. A stiffer construction is more suitable for heavier, experienced snowboarders. It ensures better riding performance at higher speeds and on frozen surfaces.

Rider weight – Many snowboards will indicate a weight limit or recommended rider weight range. Always respect this information, as failing to do so can affect the board's performance.

Camber – A dynamic camber holds well in turns. It's ideal for experienced riders with advanced technique. Beginners should opt for a rocker, which makes turning easier and helps forgive mistakes. In practice, both profiles are often combined in universal snowboards. A flat profile is also an option, often used in freestyle boards.

Shape – Directional boards are designed for riding in one direction. They are primarily used in all-mountain and freeride snowboards. The completely symmetrical true twin allows for riding in both directions, which freestyle riders appreciate. A directional twin combines both options. Asymmetrical boards improve control when carving turns.

Component combination – The snowboard's parameters must match the rest of your gear. The snowboard should create a balanced set with the bindings and boots. A stiff snowboard for aggressive riding won't perform well without stiffer bindings and appropriate footwear.
