1. Gender

Who are you choosing for?

The main difference is in stiffness and the design of the ski. Women’s model have softer character and likable design. Male skier would not have a quality ride on these skis. On the other hand, women, may it be due to more serious interest or body proportions can get even unisex/men’s model.

2. Style

For what ski style are you choosing?

One of the most important questions to ask when choosing skis. If you already know that your favourite style is classic or that you prefer skating, then the choice is relatively simple. You just have to choose the correct model from given category. If you are just beginning with nordic skiing and you do not know what style is better for you, then there is the option to get skiis from combi category. These skis are a compromise of both styles and therefore they allow you to choose after first kilometres on the trail.

3. Base

Are you looking for skis with or without climb support?

There exit skis with smooth base at which it is necessary to apply climbing wax. The second category of classical skis is with climbing scales or belts. These skis do not have to be waxed with climbing wax, you simply put them on at the trail and go off. The main difference is in the glide of the ski. The ski with scales are slightly slower. If you are nordic skiing beginner or do not want to deal with wax alchemy, then the models with climb support are ideal for you. If you are an experienced skier or have higher ambitions, then get skis without support.

4. Bindings

Are you looking for a complet set or just the skis?

The choice of with or without bindings depends only on you. Just be careful that the final combination of outsoles and bindings is of the same type!

5. Binding type

What type of binding do you prefer?

If you are choosing skis for skating, then I would recommend bindings SNS Pilot, which provides more stability thanks to two axles. Practically, the differences between different bindings are not that noticeable. If you do not have selected shoes and are not looking for specific type of bindings, then leave this option open.
It is most important to so choose the same type of binding and shoes to ensure correct function.
